Summer has started knocking at the door step.I had taken Azzu for swimming. He swims less,plays more in the pool.Though he knows little bit of swimming he still uses floaters, he shows all his creativity in the use of floaters. sometimes like a skate board in the water, sometimes like a Frisbee and sometimes like a TT bat. Today he was doingsame thing.he was playing water Frisbee with his friend in the pool.I told him to stop,but since it was play time and he was the boss. Finally instructor at the pool took the floater.He and his friend got damn angry,but instructor was unmoved. And I was on instructor’s side. Finally Azzu tells instructor, give our floater otherwise we tell news channel.I was dumbfounded.
8 year old kid’s idea for a retail store launch March 12, 2009
It was one of those project where things were becoming too difficult. Client was bouncing every single idea.I was getting depressed and hit the dead end.I didn’t know what to do.I t appeared to me that I have already explored all routes for the launch of a new retail store. I reached home exhausted after nth client meeting .
Azzu guessed as always.
he asked: clint didn’t like your film?
he knew the answer.
He offered his help.
Ok I will write for you.
2nd standard student and launch of retail store film.
I got excited.never know.he might come up with a fresh perspective.
I said OK.
After half an hour he came to me with his idea.
I was curious.
It was a 4 line so called song for a chocolate.
It went something like this I love perk..I do my homework. for perk yeeeee
But I am looking ideas for retail store.I said
“I have written on chocolate because l like chocolate”
He said.
What is flood? Azzu’s answer September 19, 2008
Off late there was tragic flood in North Bihar. many districts were submerged for weeks.Tv news were full of images and news from that area. unfortunately even our village was affected. All of us were glued to TV to know what is happening there. We kept talking about the reasons for this flood.How the Bihar govt ,Central govt and Nepal govt was was responsible for this flood. But Azzu had different point of view.
He said nobody was responsible for this flood but god. He must have left the Tap open in his home that is why water flowing into our home. God should be more responible.

Difference between PAPA and BAAP August 25, 2008
Few days back my wife’s sister’s family came home. They had a little kid Adwait,who is 3 years younger than Azzu. entire day both of them fought tooth and nail for the supremacy of the kingdom called house. Azzu is our only child ,so in a way he thinks his house is his kingdom and he is the king.Now suddenly there was another king.Every kid thinks house is his kingdom and everybody has to obey their orders like a subject. So two kings were fighting for the kingom and we grown ups were try to balance things without hurting any of them.
Both of them were fighting over a toy.Though it was Azzu’s mistake Adwait’s father scolded him to pacify to keep the balance.Adwait shouted back to his father
Tum mere Baap nahin ho .mat danto. Tum mere papa ho.
(ENG: Please don’t scold me you are not my BAAP( Baap is the Hindi word for Father),you are my papa.)
That shows the difference between mother tongue and learned language. since Adwait’s mothor tongue is Hindi so, it Hindi words are harsh for him.
And that difference exists not only for kids but for grown ups too. in the office, in the gatherings we get way with many bad English words but if we say the same words in Hindi we can’t imagine what will happen.

As in the earlier post i had written kids paint on everything except on papers.Sometimes i will his paintings on pillow, bed sheet even on the tv screen.is it their way of defying parents or not I don’t know.
Handling bad times Azzu’s way August 16, 2008
Death can break anybody.It can make you emotional wreck. we always wonder whether kid will able handle it,but thing is opposite. We should ask ourselves whether whether we grown ups will able to handle it.
yesterday one of our close relative passed away. all of us were kept crying.none of us eat or slepp.We keep trying to console each other and kept crying.
But little azzu.s behaviour amazed me.Though his behaviur was awakward from our paramaeter. he keep doing different things.sometimes he will take out his math’s book and sometimes painting pad. He will something do on the computer and next moment start riding his bicycle. WE KEPT SCOLDING PLEASE DON’T PLAY THERE IS DEATH IN THE FAMILY.but he kept ignoring us.
Late in the night he told us Grandpa has chose to given her soulÄATMA”to somebody else.so our grandpa is there. stop crying.

Whenever Azzu is in mood he starts painting on the comp or on the wall or the floor,or on the pillow or bedsheet but not on the paper. If ask why his answer is always the same: we do that in school.And this is not school.”please provide me words to answer back.

It was Sunday, so it was field day for me And Azzu. Entire week’s homework has to be completed; he has to go for classes, and lots of other things. Sometimes I wonder what we are doing to our kids. Today a typical kid’s day is as jam packed as any company’s CEO. They are trying to make kid genius in a day, in a quarter and in a year. And the process keeps going on forever. If a parent doesn’t go by the tide he is a bad parent. Kids are losing the definition of childhood. When they will grow up and read about childhood in different books or see in movie they will wonder whose childhood it is.
Anyway Azzu has to finish his homework. He started with art. For a kid entire house is an art copy. So he drew everywhere but in his art notebook.
He told me happily,
“I finished my homework”
I had to remind him
“You can’t take ,wall or floor to your school”
With lots of anger he started doing his homework in art notebook. When he was done it was my turn to get angry.
He had drawn a landscape, but everything was wrong.
He has drawn red grass and red sky. Leaves of his trees were pink and sun black. Mountain hardly looked like a mountain in bright yellow.
“What is this?” I said.
“How many times I told you sky is blue, leaves are green, grass is green.”
But he was not ready to listen.
He was jumping
“Homework ho gaya, homework ho gaya.”
I knew if he doesn’t correct there will be remark in his school diary and I will be called to school.
I took him to window and showed to trees, sky and grass and told
“Now you know what the right colour is? Now do it that way”
“papa that is your sky, tree and grass not mine.”
He showed me his art notebook and said
“This is my tree, sky and grass; I will give them whatever colour I want”
He threw the book on me and started shouting
“Papa is a loser, papa is a loser.”
